Maybe you left the environment, but you’re still carrying what it taught you.
You second-guess decisions that used to feel simple.
Saying no comes with guilt.
Disagreeing with someone in authority feels dangerous, even when you have good reason.
You may love God and find it difficult to pray.
You may miss your community while knowing that parts of it harmed you.
You may wonder whether what you experienced was really that serious, especially when other people seem to have been fine.
Over time, you simply learned that being faithful meant staying quiet, ignoring your needs, or working harder to become worthy of love.
Now you’re asking:
What happened to me? Why does it still affect me? And what could faith look like from here?
Healing From Spiritual Wounds creates space to explore those questions with guidance, compassion, and community.
Begin Your Healing Journey
What can begin to change
Over six weeks, we will work toward changes you can recognize in everyday life.
From confusion toward clarity.
Develop language for your experience and learn to recognize spiritual harm, manipulation, coercive control, and unhealthy uses of authority.
From self-blame toward compassion.
Examine the messages you absorbed about worth, obedience, and belonging. Begin understanding the ways you adapted to stay connected or feel safe.
From second-guessing toward discernment.
Practice noticing your feelings, considering your needs, asking questions, and making thoughtful choices without automatically handing your judgment to someone else.
From guilt around boundaries toward greater agency.
Explore what makes saying no difficult and begin developing boundaries that honor your limits, values, and relationships.
From pressure to move on toward room to grieve.
Make space for what you lost, including trust, community, certainty, or the version of faith you once knew.
From fear and performance toward a healthier faith.
Begin identifying beliefs and practices that make room for honesty, curiosity, compassion, connection, and the tenderness of God.
This group is designed to help you leave with clearer language, practical tools, and a more grounded understanding of how to embrace your healing journey
This group may be for you if…
Faith has become tangled with fear, shame, anxiety, or pressure to perform.

You don’t have to decide whether your experience “counts” as spiritual abuse before exploring its impact.
Meet Your Facilitator
KOBE CAMPBELL, LCMHC
I’m Kobe Campbell, a licensed trauma therapist, author of Why Am I Like This?, and founder of The Healing Circle.
My work helps people understand the experiences that shaped them, break painful cycles, and reclaim their stories. My approach brings together trauma-informed care, experiential work, and the spiritual sensitivity of my seminary training.
I created Healing From Spiritual Wounds for people who need space to acknowledge religious harm and explore what healthier faith could become.
My hope is that you leave with a clearer understanding of your story, greater compassion for yourself, and practical ways to begin moving forward.
